Otti Resolves 8-Year Salary Arrears for Abia Judicial Workers

Otti

Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti fulfills commitment to paying off an 8-year salary arrear to judiciary workers inherited from the previois administration.

Otti’s Chief Press Secretary, Kazie Uko, revealed the payment initiation, addressing concerns of workers who had been on strike since January 2015.

The demands, including confirming Justice Lilian Abai as Chief Judge and settling arrears under the Consolidated Judiciary Staff Salary Structure, prompted he’s intervention. The previous administration had only fulfilled one of the four demands. He’s commitment led to the strike’s conclusion in June 2023.

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Abia Chapter, expressed gratitude for Otti’s intervention. Oracle Chinedu Eze, the union leader, appreciated the first batch of Consolidated Judiciary Staff Salary Structure (CONJUSS) arrears payment on November 15, 2023.
