Ousmane Dembélé has officially claimed the 2025 Ballon d’Or, etching his name alongside football’s most iconic figures.
Once seen as a prodigy after his €148 million move to Barcelona at just 20 years old, the French winger struggled to live up to expectations at Camp Nou.

His career trajectory seemed uncertain—until a triumphant return to France reignited his spark.
Now 28, Dembélé delivered a career-defining season with Paris Saint-Germain, leading Luis Enrique’s side to a historic treble that included Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and PSG’s first-ever UEFA Champions League title.
His performances earned him the top spot in Ballon d’Or voting, ahead of Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal (3rd) and fellow Blaugrana star Raphinha (2nd).
Dembélé becomes only the second PSG player to win the Ballon d’Or, following Lionel Messi’s triumph in 2023. Across all competitions, he racked up 35 goals and 16 assists, with a pivotal positional shift to central forward mid-season, unlocking his full potential.
