“No Pastor Truly Called by God Should Ever Support APC” — Netizens Slam Clerics Backing Party

A post on X (formerly Twitter) has stirred widespread debate after a user declared that any pastor who supports the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not serving God but the devil.

The viral post, made by @dangbanamanager (iDAN), read:“No pastor truly called by God should ever support APC. Any so-called man of God who gathers people to worship under his ministry while backing APC is serving the devil, not God.”

The statement quickly gained attention, drawing hundreds of reactions from Nigerians who shared mixed opinions about the role of pastors in politics and governance.

One user, Joe (@Joejohnseen), supported the post, saying, “Absolutely. And any pastor that has sat on the fence all these while as these go awry, stays quiet or denies the genocide is devil’s assistant.”

Another user, Adeyemo Olajire P. (@oneolajire), added, “Even pastors called by man and those called by themselves shouldn’t support the evil called APC by any means.”

Some users praised the post for speaking truth to power. A commenter, ManOfDestiny (@Golden_standard), wrote, “Flesh and blood did not reveal this to you,” while another, Kate Ofoha (@ChinweOfoha2), said, “You are 200% correct!”

But not everyone agreed. A user identified as dammy k (@OlakunleOg62542), wrote, “Go keel God wey call them if you see any pastor wey support BAT,” referring to Bola Ahmed Tinubu by his initials.

Amid the heated exchange, an account named TrueWire (@TRUUEWire) made a controversial claim, writing, “APC is a terrorist organization. After investigating APC for 3 years, I found a source linked to them funding BH and Miyetti Allah terrorist organization.” The claim has not been independently verified.

The post has continued to trend on X, reflecting growing frustration among Nigerians toward religious and political leaders who are perceived to be complicit or silent amid the country’s economic hardship and governance challenges.
