Controversial Nollywood actor and self-proclaimed cleric, Yul Edochie, has sparked conversation by asserting that many Nigerian pastors were originally destined to be native doctors.
According to Edochie, these pastors abandoned their true calling due to the influence of Western perceptions and the portrayal of native doctors as “evil” in the movie industry.
He went further to encourage some Nigerian clerics to reconsider their faith alignment and embrace their original calling as native doctors.
Edochie highlighted that native doctors possess a divine calling and play a vital role in serving humanity.

On his Instagram page, Edochie wrote, “Many pastors today actually have the calling to be native doctors but they are refusing to answer the call bcos oyibo people brainwashed us to believe it is evil. And Nollywood has also contributed in making native doctors look evil.
“Being a native doctor is a divine call from God Almighty, it means you have been chosen to help humanity.
“A true native doctor fights evil unless he decides to be evil. The same way a pastor can decide to be evil.
“Go and answer your call. You may never have fulfilment in your life if you don’t answer your call.”
