Former Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called for increased attention to mental health issues, particularly in the workplace, as the country joins the global community in commemorating Mental Health Awareness Day.
Tinubu highlighted the importance of addressing mental wellbeing, especially during times of workplace dissatisfaction.
This year’s theme, “It’s Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace,” focuses on the need to create supportive environments for individuals facing mental health challenges.
Mrs. Tinubu pointed out that bottling up emotions is often the starting point of mental health issues and stressed that early diagnosis, made possible through open conversations without fear of stigma, can significantly improve recovery outcomes.
“If there were no fears of stigmatization, people will tend to speak openly about their struggles, thus leading to early diagnosis thereby improving recovery outcomes.
