Renowned socio-political activist, Aisha Yesufu, has aimed at the Edo State Government, accusing it of neglecting the pressing security challenges plaguing the state.
In a post shared on her verified X handle on Thursday, Yesufu expressed her concerns following the recent killing of a female farmer in the state.
According to Yesufu, the women in Etsako West are increasingly reluctant to go to farms due to the prevailing fear of potential harm, such as rape or murder, orchestrated by what she described as “blood-thirsty assailants.”
The activist highlighted the alarming rate of abductions occurring on farms, emphasising the adverse impact on the agricultural community.
Yesufu didn’t mince words in her critique, asserting that men who still venture to farms face a heightened risk of abduction.
She further criticized the Edo State Government, alleging that it is preoccupied with policies that, in her words, “can be deciphered by experts.”
Her words: “Most of the women in Etsako West no longer go to farms for fear of being raped or killed. Abductions on the farms are on the high.”
“Men that now go to farms face abduction, yet the Edo State Government is busy on policies that can be deciphered by experts,” she added.
