Peter Obi Donation to Kaduna Orphanage

Peter Obi Donates ₦20 Million to School for ‘Orphans’ in Kaduna State

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, has donated ₦20 million to a school for orphans in Kafanchan, Kaduna State.

His donation aims to support the construction of classrooms and administrative blocks for children who lost their parents due to insecurity.

Obi’s visit to Kafanchan came after a meeting in Abuja, where a Bishop shared the struggles of setting up the school due to a lack of government support.

Moved by the plight of the children, Obi immediately decided to visit the school, assess its progress, and offer assistance.

During his visit, Obi reiterated his belief that investing in education, especially for vulnerable children, is key to securing Nigeria’s future.

He emphasized that every child deserves quality education regardless of their background, stating that “investing in education is investing in the future of our dear nation.”

The donation is part of Obi’s broader commitment to educational development in Nigeria.

He has consistently advocated for policies that prioritize education as a tool for national growth and development.

His actions have earned him praise from many Nigerians who see him as a leader with empathy.

Reacting to Obi’s gesture, social commentator Sarah Ibrahim described leadership as “about empathy, action, and showing up when it matters, especially for those who have nobody to show up for them.”

Her remarks reflect a growing sentiment that tangible actions like Obi’s donation are what true leadership entails.
