Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour party, Peter Obi, has lauded Nigerian Afrobeat stars for their remarkable showing at the 66th Grammy Awards.
In a statement, Peter Obi congratulated Burna Boy, Davido, Ayra Starr, Olamide, Asake, and Tems for their nominations, emphasizing that their global recognition underscores Nigeria’s prowess in the music industry.
“The eventual outcome of the final result did not in any way diminish the exceptional talents of these great stars who have continued to position our nation on the global stage of music and entertainment,” Obi remarked.
Highlighting the significance of the nominations, Obi stressed, “The very nomination of such a large number of Nigerian artists in so many categories testifies to the giant strides that our citizens have made in the global music industry.”
Obi also drew attention to the economic impact of the music and entertainment sector, citing projections estimating a revenue generation of $14.82 billion for Nigeria by 2025. He commended the creativity and contributions of the nominated artists to the growth of the industry.

“As I have always said, it is not about getting 100% results, but about making 100% effort. Our huge Grammy recognition says it all,” Obi reiterated, expressing pride in the achievements of Nigerian talents.
