Peter Obi Has Better Chances in 2027 Than in 2023, Nigerians Are Ready This Time — Aisha Yesufu

Activist Aisha Yesufu has expressed strong confidence that Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has brighter chances of emerging victorious in 2027.

Speaking in Umuahia, Abia State, during the Girls’ Summit organized by the Protect The Precious Foundation, Yesufu said many Nigerians are now more aware and ready to vote for a leader who can truly serve the country’s interest.

According to her, “people are now ready.” She noted that Obi’s growing popularity across the country reflects the citizens’ renewed hope for change.

Yesufu explained that the movement which started in 2023 has continued to expand, despite efforts by political opponents to weaken it.

She said, “In 2023, people were just waking up to their power. They didn’t understand it fully. But now, there’s clarity, there’s purpose, and there’s determination.”

Yesufu further stated that 2027 would not just be about politics but about Nigerians standing up for their future.

“We have seen what incompetence looks like. We have felt the pain. Nigerians will not go back to sleep again,” she said.

She urged citizens to sustain their political engagement, stressing that elections alone cannot bring change unless people remain involved in governance.

“We must keep demanding accountability. Peter Obi represents a shift from the old ways of doing things, and that’s why he is feared by the establishment,” she added.

Yesufu maintained that Obi’s message of transparency, character, and competence continues to resonate strongly, particularly among young Nigerians.

“This movement is not about one man; it’s about the people reclaiming their country,” she said.
