Peter Obi Donates N10 Million to Nursing School in Anambra

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in 2023, has donated ₦10 million to the College of Nursing Sciences in Adazi Nnuku, located in the Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra.

He presented the cheque to Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Awka and the owner of the institution.

Obi emphasized the critical role of nurses in the nation’s health sector, acknowledging the magnitude and significance of their work.

He added that nurses deserve all the support and attention they can get.

“Institutions like this should get budgetary allocation because of the great work you are doing, trying to train these nurses who are always there with the patient.

“We can not talk about healthcare, which is very important to national development, without talking about healthcare workers.

“I have heard what the Head of Nursing Department in the school has said, I want to assure you that we will come back.

“Training these people is helping to protect our future. If we do not train them today, they will become a threat to us,” he said.

In response, Mr. Ezeokafor expressed his gratitude to Mr. Obi for his generosity toward the institution and the church.

He noted that Mr. Obi had been a supporter of the institution both before and during his tenure as governor, and he has continued this support as a private citizen.

Mr. Ezeokafor assured that the funds would be used judiciously for the benefit of humanity and expressed hope for continued support for the school.
