Nigerian businessman and founder of the Coscharis Group, Dr. Cosmas Maduka, has debunked claims in the media that Peter Obi, the Labour Party flagbearer in the 2023 presidential election, would have mismanaged the funds recovered from subsidy removal in the same way Bola Tinubu is doing.
While speaking on the Selahmeditate Podcast, Dr. Maduka said that the comparison is absolutely nonsensical as Tinubu does not possess the same leadership character attribute as Obi, who puts the citizens first.
According to him, it is like comparing light and darkness as Obi has demonstrated his ability for fiscal discipline and administrative efficiency both as a business person and as governor of Anambra State.
“If Peter had become our president he will remove subsidy but the difference is what would he do with subsidy money? Will he take it for poverty allieviation? Will he take it to go and buy a private jet? Will he squander it? The answer is no!

“Why should I compare light and darkness? Why should I compare what exists and what does not exist? On what basis will I be comparing our current president, Tinubu, with Peter (Obi)?” he asked.
