Isaac Bristol, the alleged individual behind the anonymous whistleblower account on X, PIDOMNigeria, is currently in critical condition while detained at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja.
His health has worsened since his abduction and torture by the Nigeria Police Force on August 5.
A source within the FCID, speaking anonymously to West Africa Weekly, warned that if PIDOM is not permitted to receive medical treatment soon, he risks losing one of his fingers.
“His index finger is badly hurt and almost paralysed. He may lose the finger if nothing is done quickly,” he told West Africa Weekly.
Reports from last week revealed that PIDOM has been denied access to his family, friends, and legal team. His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, was prevented from seeing him on Saturday due to a “new directive” from the National Cybercrime Centre (NCCC).

This violation of human rights has contributed to his worsening health, along with inadequate food and a lack of access to medical treatment and supplies.
Nigerians, including his family and Ijaw leaders, continue to call for PIDOM’s unconditional release from police detention.
They emphasize that under Nigerian law, every citizen is presumed innocent until proven guilty, yet he has been treated as if he were guilty, with his rights and dignity being disregarded.
