Gunmen believed to be sea pirates ambushed a group of four Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) officers, resulting in their feared demise.
The tragic incident unfolded in the Bakana community of Rivers State.
A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, disclosed to NAN in Port Harcourt on Saturday that the event transpired during the early hours of Friday.

“Two of the victims who are Muslims have already been buried according to Islamic rites,” the eyewitness added.
In response, DSC Olufemi Ayodele, the spokesperson of NSCDC in Rivers, refrained from either confirming or refuting the killing, stating that the command would release an official statement as additional information becomes available.
