EPL: You Need to Play Better — Amorim Cautions Man Utd Forward

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has called on Alejandro Garnacho to raise his performance levels as questions continue to surround the Argentine’s future at the club.

Speaking to reporters, Amorim acknowledged Garnacho’s talent but highlighted areas where the 20-year-old needs to improve, particularly his positional play and transitions.

Amorim praised Garnacho’s improvement in recovering positions without the ball but admitted it occasionally affects his positioning during transitions.

Garnacho’s future at Manchester United has been uncertain since he was dropped from the squad for the Premier League clash against Manchester City, along with Marcus Rashford. While Rashford remains out, Garnacho has returned to the squad and even started in their last game.

Amorim told reporters about Garnacho, “That is clear. He has talent. He needs to learn to play in a different position. He needs to play better inside.

“He improves a lot in the recovering position when he doesn’t have the ball. But by doing that, sometimes he’s not in the right place to make transitions like he was in the past.

“I prefer to defend and then build up with the whole team to reach the final third.

“He’s finding the best way to play in this system. He’s improving during training. He started the last game. Let’s see tomorrow. I think he has changed the way he sees himself,” he added.
