Nigerian Police Arrest 25-Year-Old in Lagos for Transporting Human Organs

A 25-year-old man, Samson Oghenebreme, has been arrested by officers from the Odo-Noforija Police Division in the Odomola community, located in the Epe area of Lagos State, for allegedly carrying human organs suspected to be intended for ritual use.

According to a statement from the Lagos State Police Command, the arrest occurred on April 25, 2025, following credible intelligence from concerned residents who reported the suspect’s suspicious behavior.

Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin stated that: “Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect was allegedly transporting the human organs from Edo State to deliver them to a native doctor for a suspected money ritual.”

The police confirmed that “the recovered organs have since been deposited at the General Hospital in Epe for proper preservation and forensic analysis.”

As the suspected crime originated in Edo State, the case has now been transferred to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, Olohundare Jimoh, praised the proactive work of the police team and the alertness of the Odomola community. He emphasized: “This arrest underscores the importance of timely information sharing between the public and the police. We commend the community for their alertness and urge continued cooperation.”
