Police Arrest Cross River Journalist, Radio Host Joe Paul

The Nigerian Police have arrested a journalist and radio host working for a local radio station in Calabar, Cross River State.

This development was made known in a tweet shared by an X user, Stephen OSEMWEGIE on Friday.

His post reads,”#FreeJoePaul Obidient Nigerian, Patriot of Good Governance , activist and Journalist of a local radio station in Calabar Cross River State was arrested by @PoliceNG #FreeJoePaulNow.”

According to report, the journalist, activist and radio host was arrested on Monday, December 9, at Zone 6 Calabar.

However netizens are clamouring for his release with the hastag #FreeJoePaulNow.

Following the recent arrest of the Nigerian journalist, Dele Farotimi and this current arrest Nigerians have been left to wonder whether the practice of journalism is a crime.
