Police Arrest Motorcyclist With Three Human Skulls in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command says its operatives have arrested a motorcycle rider found in possession of three human skulls during a stop-and-search operation in Oru-Ijebu.

The incident, which occurred on Monday around 2 p.m., also led to the arrest of another suspect linked to the case.

Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola, said in a statement on Tuesday that officers from the 71 PMF Awa Ijebu intercepted the motorcyclist, identified as Kadir Owolabi, along the Ijebu Ode/Ibadan Expressway at Refugees Camp Junction, Oru Ijebu.

Upon inspection, the skulls were discovered concealed in his luggage.

She added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to take over the case for discreet investigation.

The police spokesperson urged residents to support law enforcement efforts while assuring them of confidentiality.

The case adds to a worrying trend of human body parts being recovered in the region, including a June 2025 incident in Osun State, where three men were caught transporting two human heads allegedly for ritual purposes.
