How Police Hurriedly Filed 16-Count Charge of Defamation Against Human Rights Lawyer, Dele Farotimi—Inibehe Effiong

Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong has revealed the 16-count defamation charge against unjustifiably embattled human rights lawyer Dele Farotimi filed by the Nigeria Police Force.

Recall that Farotimi was arrested in Lagos on Tuesday by operatives of the Ekiti state police command and brought to the court at about 10:25 am Wednesday.

This act has stirred reactions from Nigerians, echoing the injustice that characterizes the country’s justice system.

In a tweet, Inibehe shared the document containing the charge, adding that Dele Farotimi was accused of defaming Are Afe Babalola, SAN.

“The 16 count charge of defamation hurriedly filed today against @DeleFarotimi  by the @police at the Ekiti State Magistrate Court. He is accused of defaming Chief Afe Babalola,” Inibehe tweeted.
