Police Nab Four for Alleged Theft of N12 Million Worth of Airtel Mast Batteries

Edo State Police Command has apprehended four individuals accused of stealing six batteries from an Airtel Telecommunications mast, estimated at N12 million.

The suspects, identified as Otete Emmanuel, Onya Ndubisi, Oliver Sodenyi, and Okuru Benedict, were captured by operatives of Okhuaihe Divisional Police in Benin City.

The suspects, donning green reflective jackets, were reportedly driving a white Toyota Hilux with the license plate EPE 328 HY, parked at Imorta Filling Station along Benin-Agbor Expressway.

The arrest followed a distress call to the command’s control room by Robert Daniel, who claimed to have witnessed the theft.

According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the suspects denied involvement and underwent a vehicle search that yielded no incriminating evidence.
