Police Rescue Three Kidnap Victims In Katsina

Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the rescue of three persons who were kidnapped by bandits in Gogalo village, Jibia Local Government Area of the State.

The police said they engaged the bandits in a gun battle and freed the victims unhurt.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Aliyu Abubakar-Sadiq, the incident occurred on November 11, around 10:46 pm, when the bandits stormed the village, shooting sporadically and abducted three residents.

The statement said the Divisional Police Officer of Jibia, upon receiving the report, quickly mobilised a search and rescue team to the scene.

The team pursued the bandits into the surrounding bushes and confronted them in a shootout.

The statement added that the rescue operation lasted till November 12, around 6:00 am, when the team successfully rescued all the kidnapped victims without any injury.

The police said they are making efforts to arrest the fleeing bandits and urged the public to cooperate with the security agencies by providing useful information.
