Nigerian Policeman Sexually Harassing Female Suspect in Ogun Station

A video circulating on social media depicts an incident where a policeman allegedly stationed at Ago Iwoye Police Division of the Ogun State Police Command engaged in sexual harassment of a female suspect detained at the station.

An X (formerly Twitter) user, Oluwabunmi Michael Awoyemi, @Harwohyehmi1 who posted the video on his handle wrote, “A police officer from Ago Iwoye arrested a lady, instead of doing his job, he told her harassed her and even asked her to kiss him before he leaves her alone.

“This is how much they’ve ridiculed this profession and harassed our students. Set of irresponsible people.”

In the video, the police officer is heard asking the female suspect, “Are you a virgin or you are lying to your boyfriend?” to which the lady said, “I’m not lying.”

Then the police officer asked, “Are you a Christian or Muslim?” and the lady said, “I’m a Christian.”

The policeman went further to ask her if she was pregnant but she said no.

The officer said, “I want to disvirgin your mouth. I want to kiss you before I go out of this place,” but when the lady said no, he ordered her to shut up.

The officer further said, “I want to let you go but I want to disvirgin your mouth. Not that place, your mouth first.”

As the lady continued to plead with him to let her go, he said, “I said I like you,” and the lady said, “Thank you, sir. I like you too.”

The police officer said, “Then kiss me,” but the lady said, “I cannot kiss you.”

Despite the victim’s refusal and pleas to be left alone, the officer persistently insisted on kissing her, displaying a blatant disregard for her rights and dignity.

In response to the video, the Ogun State Police Command expressed concern and urged the victim to reach out directly to the command to provide detailed information regarding the incident.
