In a tragic incident that occured at the Federal Polytechnic, Offa community in Kwara State, a Higher National Diploma (HND) female student, identified as Toyin Bamidele from the Food Technology Department, was allegedly hacked to death in her rented apartment outside the campus on Thursday.
The devastating news was confirmed on Friday by the institution’s acting head of the Public Relations Unit, Mrs. Folake Oyinloye.
Expressing condemnation of the heinous act, Oyinloye stated, “The management condemns this inhumane act in strong terms, as it is strange in the polytechnic community.
“While the circumstances behind the incident remain unknown, investigations are currently ongoing to reveal the identity of the evil occurrence by the appropriate security agencies and, as a matter of urgency, to fish out the culprits.

“The Student demise is an irreparable loss to the entire management and Staff of the Polytechnic,” she concluded.
Efforts to obtain information from the police proved challenging, as the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Victor Olaiya, could not be reached for comment at the time of filing this report.
