Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye, the Founder of The New Seraph, has expressed that prayers can help alleviate the issue of bad governance in Nigeria.
Yomi-Sholoye shared this perspective while critiquing the country’s current state in a statement obtained by our correspondent on Wednesday.
She emphasized that resorting to violence will not solve the numerous challenges the nation is facing.
During the church’s press conference for the sixth Night of Divine Experience in Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos, on Tuesday, the cleric urged citizens to continue praying fervently for their leaders and the country in these difficult times.
She also encouraged Nigerians to remain calm, support one another, and called on the government to address the protesters’ demands.
“Prayer can end bad governance in Nigeria. God said, ‘Cast your burdens upon me’; He does not tire. Let us not give up on Him. That is why we need prayers; there is nothing that prayers cannot solve. God is the supreme king, and He is capable of doing anything. There is no leader He cannot pacify, control, dethrone, or remove unless He is not the Creator.
“Let us be patient. God has many ways of resolving issues, and He says, ‘My ears are not deaf, my eyes are not blind,’ and He will act at the right time. My advice is to be patient and hope for the best because we cannot afford to be refugees in other people’s countries if we create conflict.
“Mr President, I humbly appeal to you to address the pressing issues that have led to this moment: reduce the cost of living and address inflation, provide affordable fuel and electricity, create jobs and opportunities for the youth, ensure accountability and transparency in governance, and protect the rights of all citizens.”
Discussing the church’s upcoming NODE 6.0 event themed ‘Good News,’ Yomi-Sholoye emphasized that the five-day prayer gathering will offer a chance for a divine encounter.
Arrangements have been made to accommodate attendees, with free transportation available for both Seraphs and non-Seraphs nationwide. Additionally, believers from the diaspora can stream the powerful program on the church’s social media platforms.
“It may interest you to know that this year’s programme has been fully arranged to accommodate no fewer than 300,000 worshippers at The New Seraph Prayer City, located at Kilometre 60, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, by Sapade Overhead Bridge, Ode Remo, Ogun State.”
Yomi-Sholoye also urged Christians to participate in politics to ensure their voices are heard. She asserted that there is no issue with being involved in the country’s decision-making processes.
