JUST IN: Pregnant Woman Due For Delivery Kidnapped On Way To Hospital

A pregnant woman, known only as Mrs. Ogunbunmi, has been abducted in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.

The victim, who was nearing her delivery date, had left her home in Oke Lantoro to go to the state general hospital in Ijaiye, Abeokuta, but was kidnapped en route. Her husband, Ogunbunmi Lateef, reported receiving a WhatsApp message informing him of his wife’s abduction.

Police Spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident but provided no further details.

In a terse statement, on Thursday, she said, “ One Ogunbunmi Lateef of Oke Lantoro reported that his pregnant wife due for delivery left home for State Hospital Ijaiye Abeokuta.

“He received a WhatsApp message confirming the abduction of his wife by unknown armed men.”

Ogun is one of the states grappling with high levels of criminality in the South West region.
