‘Detty December’ refers to Nigeria’s month-long end-of-year celebrations, which include concerts, festivals, and cultural events, attracting both locals and members of the Nigerian diaspora. The task force is expected to coordinate logistics, infrastructure, and security to enhance the experience for tourists and participants.

Minister Musawa also confirmed that the Council approved the adoption of the “Naija Season” brand, developed by the National Council for Arts and Culture. The brand is intended to showcase festivals and cultural events across all 36 states, with Detty December serving as the flagship initiative.

The move reflects the government’s commitment to leveraging Nigeria’s creative and tourism sectors as engines for economic growth and international recognition.
