The renowned broadcast journalist Rufai Oseni has reacted to the fake news regarding a $600 million deal secured from Danish shipping and logistics company Maersk by the Bola Ahmed Tinubu government.
Recall that Bayo Onuguga, special adviser on information and strategy for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, recently deleted a tweet on the non-existing deal.
In the deleted post, Onunuga claimed Nigeria secured a $600 million investment in seaport infrastructure from Danish shipping company A.P. Moller-Maersk.
He further lied, saying that the investment was secured during a meeting between President Bola Tinubu and Moller-Maersk Chairman Robert Maersk Uggla on the sidelines of a World Economic Forum meeting in Saudi Arabia.
In response, Rufai tweeted, “Propaganda everywhere, Lloyd’s list is the most authoritative voice in Shipping.”
He said in another tweet, “Even Maeserk has replied they say they don’t know about any investment.”
Meanwhile, Lloyd’s List, which is the most authoritative voice in shipping news published, “Chairman Robert Uggla met Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the weekend, but no new investment was signed.”
