Properties worth millions of naira were destroyed by fire, as the popular Central Market in Kabba, Kogi West senatorial district of the State was razed down by an inferno on Monday.

It was gathered that the fire which started in the morning on Monday 27 November 2023, leaving traders and members of the community in shock and sorrow as the flames consumed numerous businesses and sources of livelihood, Tribune reports.

According to an eyewitness account, the fire started around 5 am on Monday morning and rapidly spread through the market’s vibrant stalls and shops.

Sympathisers rushed to the scene to combat the inferno and prevent further spread but Despite their efforts, the intensity of the blaze made containment challenging.
