Students of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) took to the streets on Friday, blocking the Akure-Ilesa highway in protest against the escalating bandit attacks targeting them outside the campus.

Chanting solidarity songs, the students expressed frustration over the continuous robbery incidents they face while residing off-campus.

The protest caused a significant traffic jam on the expressway, disrupting normal flow.

The students emphasized that their demonstration aim to draw attention to the urgent need for action from the university management, government, and security agencies to address the persistent banditry threatening their safety.
