American rapper Nicki Minaj has been arrested at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam for possession of soft drugs.
The incident was filmed on live stream by Minaj.
The rapper was told that all her luggage needed to be offloaded from the plane and searched.
A spokesperson for the Dutch Royal Marechaussee confirmed the arrest of “an American lady” following reports from NU.nl. Minaj also acknowledged the incident on X (formerly Twitter).
Minaj was detained by border control at Schiphol-Oost while preparing to board a private jet to Manchester, where she is scheduled to perform tonight.
She is currently held by the Marechaussee at Schiphol for further investigation.

The artist has shared updates about the incident on both X and Instagram.
“They took my luggage & when I asked where it is they said it’s on the plane. It couldn’t have been, I just pulled up,” she said on X. “This is Amsterdam btw, where w**d is legal.”
“Now they said they found w**d & that another group of ppl have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls.” “Keep in mind they took my bags without consent.
My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yea & the pilot wants me to take my ig post down.”
