The Arewa Progressive Forum for Good Governance (APFGG) has rebuked Bashir El-Rufai, asserting that the Northern electorate will firmly stand behind Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential elections.
Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, recently stirred controversy with social media remarks suggesting that Tinubu, alongside President Buhari and Governor El-Rufai, would face electoral rejection in 2027 due to alleged “non-performance.”
Malam Ibrahim Musa Bichi, Chairman of APFGG, denounced Bashir’s assertions, implying they echoed sentiments from his father, who has faced accusations of financial mismanagement totaling N423 billion during his tenure. The group speculated that Bashir’s discontent stemmed from his father’s purported denial of a ministerial position.
“We are challenging he, El- Rufai to pick presidential ticket and contest against Tinubu and see who the North will vote ,” declared Bichi.
The group vehemently defended Tinubu’s political legacy, claiming he has built political structure over the years.

“Those who understand politics know that Tinubu has built a political structure over the years that is helping him to move Nigeria forward in the right direction.
“And we don’t see reasons to fight an administration that is determined to make the country a better place.
“We want the likes of Bashir to know that the real voters within the North will support Tinubu, because they are fully aware of the President’s efforts via his Renewed Hope Agenda to tackle the challenges of insecurity and economic hardship caused by previous administrations,” the group stated.
