Human Rights Activist, Aisha Yesufu has declared that religious leaders depend on bad governance for their cheap miracles to sell.
Yesufu made this outburst in a post shared on her official X handle on Friday.
Her comment comes following the statement by Pastor Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, RCCG that because of the prayers of the church custom rate has not skyrocketed to N10,000 per dollar.
“When the president came in, the very first day he came, he said this money that they spend in importing petrol, he says he cancelled it. We were all rejoicing, thank God. But some people were angry, those who were making money from importing petrol. Then they decided okay, we will create a problem.
“Then all of a sudden, naira began to go down, fast. I cried to my people, let us pray. Thank God some people joined me in praying. Because the way naira was going then, if God had not intervened, by now, 1$ would be about N10,000. But God stepped in. Just to show you that we need prayers. And you know this has nothing to do with politics, I’m not a politician and I will never be one. That’s not my calling,” Pastor Adeboye said.
Reacting to this, Aisha Yesufu wrote, “The religious rulers need bad governance to continue to sell cheap miracles.”
Netizens has poured in their comments regarding Yesufu’s comment.
“They will all run out of business the moment Nigeria start working. They know this,”P O P O R I eatable tweeted.
PO disciple wrote, “Old age is a blessing from God, but using it to manipulate people to believe in your lies is pure wickedness. Adeboyo is something else under APC!”
“I prayed and dollar didn’t go up as 20 thousand Naira,” Zubee mimicked.
