The Presiding Pastor of Faith Women Fellowship Ministry International, Pastor Lydia Idoko, has urged Bola Tinubu to ensure that his economic reforms are more considerate of the people’s well-being.
Speaking to journalists during the opening of a two-day “Women of Excellence” conference for working-class and businesswomen in both public and private sectors in Makurdi on Tuesday, the pastor expressed concern over the growing hardships facing Nigerians.
She called on Tinubu and other leaders to not rely solely on their own understanding but to seek divine guidance.
Pastor Idoko, widow of the late Chief Judge of Benue State, Justice Alhassan Idoko, emphasized that the current situation is the worst Nigerians have ever faced, urging Tinubu to listen to the cries of the people.

She said, “The scripture says, do to others what you want them to do unto you, even while carrying out reforms you should be able to get feedback on how the masses are doing, ask yourself if your family is part of them how will they be surviving.
“I encourage our leaders to listen to the cry of the masses, Nigerians have never cried this way and everyone is affected, you have the opportunity to serve now you should know that you will be remembered for two things; the problem you created while in office and the one you solved.”
Idoko also admonished those close to the seat of power to put the interest of the less privileged at heart while advising Tinubu.
“In this (Benue) state we have seen many people who served under three administrations and they came back and today they are climbing motorcycles around the town,” she said.
The widow of the late Chief Judge stated that the purpose of the program was to inspire women’s confidence in God, despite the challenges the nation is currently facing.
“Despite the hardship confronting our nation, we need to encourage our people, particularly, women that God has not abandoned them, He is a faithful father we just need to exercise patience so that God will touch the heart of our leaders to be able to do the best for the people.
“We also have to create the awareness of spiritual revival because, in a situation like this, we need to grow our spiritual life by coming together to pray as a corporate body as well as pray for our country for God to intervene”, the pastor said.
