Reps Queries Women Affairs Minister Over Controversial Expenditure Of Over N1.5 billion

The Chairman of the House Committee on Women Affairs, Kafilat, has led the committee in questioning the Minister in Abuja regarding the non-payment of N1.5 billion to contractors despite the funds being released.

The committee is investigating the alleged diversion of N1.5 billion earmarked for the payment of contractors. This led to a heated argument on Tuesday as the committee and Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, minister of women affairs, engaged in a heated debate.

Some contractors had petitioned the committee, alleging non-payment for contracts they had executed for the ministry.

In a video shared on TheCable X handle, the hearing devolved into a shouting match, with committee members and the minister exchanging accusations and counter-accusations.
