JUST IN: Residents Protest Over Terrorists Attack, Blocked Abuja-Kaduna Highway

Residents of Goningora in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State have taken to blocking the Abuja-Kaduna highway following a recent attack on their community by bandits.

The attack, which occurred during the night of Wednesday, February 28th, 2024, resulted in several community members being kidnapped and numerous others sustaining injuries.

Channels Television reported that enraged residents flooded the streets on Thursday morning, obstructing the busy Abuja-Kaduna highway. Consequently, heavy traffic ensued, leaving many motorists stranded.

Tragically, two individuals, including a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force, lost their lives during the attack.

This assault on the Goningora community comes shortly after soldiers eliminated a notorious bandit leader, Boderi Isyaku, along with some of his accomplices in the same Chikun local government area, just a week prior.

Reports indicate that the bandits retaliated by setting a military armoured vehicle ablaze when soldiers attempted to fend them off.
