Resign If You Can’t Handle Criticism – You Cannot Ruin Citizens’ Lives and Expect Not to Be Insulted – Aisha Yesufu Reacts to Police Claim That Cursing Online Is Crime

Renowned activist Aisha Yesufu has said that Nigerian leaders should face criticism over their leadership or resign if they cannot tolerate public disapproval.

Her remarks were in response to statements by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, who declared that directing curses at individuals online constitutes cyberbullying, a criminal offense punishable by law.

In a series of tweets, Yesufu, known for her outspoken stance on political accountability, emphasized that no one was forced into office, nor was anyone coerced into rigging their way to power.

Yesufu tweeted, “Nobody forced anyone to be elected or to rig their way into office. If you feel you are being insulted kindly resign so no one will insult you anymore. You cannot be ruining the lives of citizens, looting their wealth upon the humongous salary you are collecting and expect not to be “insulted”.
