Britain’s Foreign Minister, David Cameron, on Sunday, dismissed early results from Russia indicating that Russian President Vladimir Putin has been re-elected.

“This is not what free and fair elections look like,” he added.

Also, reports state that voting had taken place “amid harsh repressions” and in occupied parts of Ukraine in breach of international law.

This report comes in the wake of Vladimir Putin securing another tenure with 88% vote, which was predetermined.

Russians had protested Vladimir Putin’s authoritarian hold on power by forming long lines to vote against him at noon Sunday, answering the call of opposition leader Alexei Navalny

Navalny, who was Putin’s most formidable opponent, died aged 47 in an Arctic prison on February 16, sparking condemnation from world leaders and accusations from his aides.
