Same Govt Where People Died in Stampede During Their Palliative Exercise Now Bans Nigerians from Sharing Palliatives—Oseni Rufai

Renowned broadcaster and journalist, Oseni Rufai has condemned the ban of palliative distribution by the  Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun.

Following the Oyo, Anambra and Abuja stampede that resulted to the death of many, IGP Egbetokun suspended any act of palliative distribution.

Reacting to his announcement , Rufai in a post on his X handle reminded the Tinubu government how a palliative distribution they hosted in February 2024 resulted in stampede leading to the death of seven individuals.

He added that the government should emphasize on crowd control instead of automatically banning palliative distribution thereby stopping Nigerians from helping other Nigerians.

Rufai backed up his claims with a screenshot of a news outlet that carried the news of the palliative distribution.

His post reads,”Imagine the same government that people died during their own palliative sharing exercise telling Nigerians not to help other Nigerians. Abi dem think say we forget, Evidence Dey. All they need to tell people to do is work on crowd control.”
