Scott Minto, Ex-Chelsea defender has expressed skepticism regarding Arsenal’s acquisition of Kai Havertz last summer.
Despite the German midfielder’s recent impressive performances, Minto believes Arsenal didn’t need to sign him.
Speaking on the Premier League All-Access Podcast, Minto acknowledged Havertz’s recent form but maintained his stance on the necessity of the transfer.
Minto stated, as quoted by The Boot Room, “I would not call him key, but over the last few games, I would say he’s justifying his tag.
“I still think they didn’t need to buy him, and I stand by that, but he’s stepping up, isn’t he?”

Minto further remarked, “Kai Havertz is stepping up, he’s scoring in good moments, he is getting that confidence and he is getting more involved.
“One thing I would have said until recently is that if he is not scoring, what is he doing?”
