Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing new accusations of rape, sexual abuse, and sexual assault after a series of lawsuits were filed on Monday.
Six lawsuits were submitted to a federal court in New York, with claims made by two women and four men. These allegations cover incidents dating from 1995 to 2021.
The unnamed plaintiffs allege that some of the assaults occurred during parties hosted by Mr. Combs, which were attended by prominent celebrities and music artists.
Mr. Combs’ legal team denied the allegations, stating to the BBC that he “has never sexually assaulted anyone—adult or minor, male or female.”
One of the accusers, who was 16 at the time, claims he attended a party hosted by Mr. Combs in the Hamptons in 1998. In the lawsuit, he recalls being excited about the invitation to what had become a major annual event for A-list celebrities.
The accuser describes seeing numerous celebrities and music artists at the party before encountering Mr. Combs on the way to the bathroom. He alleges that they struck up a conversation about breaking into the music industry, which eventually led them to a more private setting.
The accuser claims that during this conversation, Mr. Combs suddenly instructed him to undress.
The lawsuit includes a photograph of the two at the party, with the accuser’s face blurred.
According to the suit, Mr. Combs described the act as “a rite of passage” and “the path to becoming a star,” allegedly telling the teen that he had the “right look” and that he could make anyone a star.
A woman who claims Mr. Combs sexually assaulted her in a hotel room in 2004 while she was a 19-year-old college student filed another lawsuit on Monday.
The lawsuit claims that after she and a friend met the music mogul during a photo session, he invited them to a private party at his hotel.
Despite her repeated requests for him to stop, the lawsuit claims that Mr. Combs “fondled, molested, and ultimately raped her” when they arrived.
More than 100 people intend to sue the rapper on charges of sexual assault, rape, and sexual exploitation, according to Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee, who is representing the victims.
The cases are being filed under the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, which permits victims to pursue older claims, according to Mr. Buzbee, who also stated that some of the claimed victims are youngsters.
“We will let the allegations in the filed complaints speak for themselves, and will work to see that justice is done,” Mr Buzbee said in a statement after filing the lawsuits Monday.’
“We expect to be filing many more cases over the next several weeks naming Mr Combs and others as defendants as we continue to gather evidence and prepare the filings.”
The cases are the most recent of over a dozen that have been brought against Mr. Combs in recent years, alleging sexual extortion, rape, and violence.
All criminal and civil charges against him have been refuted.
Federal criminal allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering are pending against Mr. Combs. Last Thursday, a judge provisionally set the start date of his trial for May 5, 2025.
Since his arrest on September 16, Mr. Combs has been detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. Because of the “horrific” conditions in the jail, his attorneys have urged for his release pending the trial.
