Heavily armed policemen and State Security Service (SSS) operatives have surrounded the Kano State Emir’s Palace at Kofar Kudu, restricting access in and out of the premises.
Unverified reports suggest that Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II is set to install the newly appointed Wamban Kano, the District Head of Bichi, and escort him to his official post in Bichi.
At the time of this report, no official statement was given, as the police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, was unavailable to respond to inquiries.
