Repent and Seek Allah’s Help to Overcome Our Country’s Challenges – Islamic Cleric to Nigerian Leaders

An Islamic cleric, Professor Luqman Zakariyah, has called on Nigerian leaders to repent and seek divine guidance to overcome the country’s challenges.

Speaking at a Ramadan Lecture organized by the Nasrul-Lahi-Fatih Society (NASFAT) in Abuja on Saturday, Zakariyah, a professor of Islamic Jurisprudence at the University of Abuja, emphasized that many of the nation’s difficulties stem from people’s sins.

He stated, “For us as a country to overcome our challenges, our leaders should first repent their sins and seek Allah’s help to guide them to the right path.

“By doing that, I believe Allah will answer our prayers, and we will overcome the nation’s challenges.

He also urged the federal government to prioritize security, stating that insecurity, including kidnapping and banditry, has affected everyone. According to him, leaders should avoid politicizing security measures and ensure the provision of basic amenities according to people’s needs.

He added, “Some of those words are meant for Allah alone, and some are shared between Allah and human beings.

“Even with the one you can seek from human beings, your mind should be with Allah always that only He can grant what you seek.

“If you are not in spirit and you are not very close to Allah, you have to repent and seek help from Allah.

“When you seek repentance and Allah accepts it and helps you, your mind will now come back to Him.”
