Nigeria Air Fraud: It’s ‘Selective Prosecution’ to Pursue Legal Action Against Sirika Without Buhari — Aisha Yesufu Knocks EFCC

Social activist Aisha Yesufu has voiced her opinion, suggesting that former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari should face prosecution alongside his ex-Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika.

This suggestion comes in light of the recent developments surrounding Sirika’s legal troubles.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has charged and arraigned Hadi Sirika, along with his daughter, Fatima, his son-in-law, Jalal Sule Hamma, and a firm – Al Buraq Global Investment Limited.

The charges against Sirika include conferring undue advantage on his brother and his company, Enginos Nigeria Limited, with contracts left undone and lacking evidence of completed work despite payments made.

Yesterday, the controversy surrounding Nigeria Air, a national carrier project initiated by the Buhari-led administration, has also been suspended.

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, labeled the project as fraudulent. He highlighted significant flaws, including secrecy and fraudulent activities associated with the project.

Yesufu took to her official X handle to assert that prosecuting Sirika alone would constitute selective prosecution. She argues that accountability should extend to former President Buhari, suggesting a joint prosecution to address the matter comprehensively.

She stated, “Prosecuting Hadi Sirika without prosecuting Muhammadu Buhari is selective prosecution.”#yesufu
