Senate A Tainted Institution; Lacks Transparency — Oseni Rufai Reacts to Natasha’s Suspension

Renowned journalist Oseni Rufai has strongly criticized the Nigerian Senate over its decision to suspend Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for six months.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Rufai condemned the suspension, stating that the Senate lacks transparency and is a tainted institution.

His remarks come amid growing concerns about the upper legislative chamber’s accountability and impartiality in the case of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio regarding allegations of sexual harassment.

“The Senate is a tainted institution. It lacks transparency,” Rufai wrote, calling attention to what he perceives as a lack of openness in the Senate’s decision-making process.
