The Senate, through its Committee on Nigerian Army, has condemned the killing of five soldiers in Aba, Abia State, and called for a comprehensive investigation into the incident.

The chairman of the Committee, Abdulaziz Yar’adua, issued a statement on Saturday, describing the attack as “heinous and cowardly.”

Mr Yar’adua in a statement urged relevant security agencies to ensure the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators, and called for a “comprehensive investigation into this despicable attack to ensure that justice is served and those responsible are brought to account”.

Yar’adua emphasized the need for a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served and those responsible are held accountable.

He extended sympathies to the families of the slain soldiers and the Nigerian Army, describing the loss as “a significant loss to our nation’s defense and stability”. He also called for a “decisive and resolute response from the military to combat this act of terror, ensuring the group responsible faces overwhelming military pressure until their complete defeat”.
