Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, is set to return to plenary in the Red Chamber after completing her six-month suspension from the Senate.
The lawmaker, who was barred from legislative activities on March 6, 2025, will now resume her mandate following the expiration of the sanction on September 6.
Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension stemmed from a heated confrontation during plenary and her protest over a reassigned seat in the chamber.

She had once described the disciplinary action as politically motivated, linking it to her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

In July, a Federal High Court declared the suspension unconstitutional and ordered her immediate reinstatement to legislative duties.
However, the Senate leadership insisted it would not act until it had reviewed the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the judgment.
During that time, Akpoti-Uduaghan made attempts to access the National Assembly complex to resume proceedings but was denied entry.
With the suspension period now fully served, Akpoti-Uduaghan is expected to rejoin her colleagues when the Senate reconvenes from its annual recess on September 23.
Her return will restore full representation for the people of Kogi Central and mark the conclusion of months of legal disputes and legislative standoff. #Senator Natasha
