Senegal: Bassirou Diomaye Faye Has Changed Rule — Shehu Sani Applauds President-Elect

Former Nigerian Senator, Shehu Sani, commended the newly elected President of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, stating that he has altered the political landscape.

Faye, a 44-year-old member of the banned African Patriots of Senegal for Work, Ethics and Fraternity (French: Patriotes africains du Sénégal pour le travail, l’éthique et la fraternité; PASTEF, emerged victorious in the presidential election as part of an opposition coalition’s populist movement.

The 44-years-old is scheduled to assume office on April 2nd, he will succeed President Macky Sall.

Sani’s reaction to Faye’s electoral triumph was posted on his official X handle, where he drew parallels with footballer Kylian Mbappe’s choice to represent France over Cameroon.

Sani stated, “When Mbappe requested to play for Cameroon,they demanded money from him and then France gave him the opportunity to play for France.

“If he chooses to identify himself as French and not Cameroonian, he is right. Those who were with you in your moment of trials or need are your true friends.

“The new President of Senegal has changed the rule; behind every successful man there are two women,” he added.
