A senior Hamas official, Minister of Social Development, Dr. Ghazi Ahmad, detailed the devastating impact of the ongoing Israeli occupation on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

Speaking to reporters, the official, identified as Dr. Ghazi Ahmad, revealed harrowing statistics regarding the loss of life and property due to the conflict.

Hamas leader reported that approximately 3,000 innocent individuals had been killed, among whom around 13,000 were children and 10,000 were women.

“For small stats, we lost about 3,000 innocent people. About 13,000 children were killed. About 10,000 women were killed. We have also destroyed hospitals, bakeries, schools, universities. They killed more than 127 journalists, about 166 of the medical staff, and about 112 of the United Nations staff in Gaza Strip.

“I think this gives you a kind of image for what’s the atrocities done in Gaza Strip by the Israeli occupation. In addition to this place, about 1.5 million from the north to the south, they destroyed more than 260,000 homes in Gaza.

“It’s about 50,000 to 60,000 homes of the people. So I think that this is a bigger crime of Israel in Gaza, that they are killing civilians, innocent people. They bring the towers on the heads of people while they are sleeping. I can say about 7,000 families were deleted entirely from the civil record. The father, the mother, sons, children, everything.

Furthermore,Hamas leader disclosed that Israel’s actions extended beyond physical harm to include deliberate efforts to deprive the population of basic necessities.

“They are taking our lands.  I think we waited for 75 years so that the world should take some steps to help the Palestinians. Why the world, for example, impose sanctions on Sudan, in Libya, in Iraq, in Syria, and everywhere.

“Why they don’t impose sanctions on Israel? Is it all the time they believe that we are above of law, above of the international law?  We are supported by United States.  No one can count Israel.  No one can stop Israel. We can kill the Palestinians. We can take their lands. We can prevent them from praying in the mosque, and doing all kinds of crimes against our people.

“For 70 years, the Israeli operation has committing crimes against our people, killing everything. My father and uncle were killed by the Israelis; I spent five years in their prison, my mother was shot by the Israelis…. We want to end their occupation, we want to be free.”

“We want to end the occupation, We want to be free. We want to establish our state.

According to him, Israel targeted medical facilities, obstructed access to healthcare services for the wounded, and imposed strict regulations on the entry of relief supplies into the area, causing widespread starvation among Gazans.

He asserted that these atrocities constituted a calculated strategy aimed at eradicating Palestinian culture and undermining their struggle for self-determination.

Dr. Ahmad denounced the silence of major global players, notably the US and the UN, towards Israel’s alleged violations of international laws and conventions.

Despite facing criticism and being labeled as a terrorist entity, Hamas maintains that it seeks merely to liberate Palestine and secure its people’s fundamental rights.

To achieve this objective, Hamas remains prepared to negotiate a comprehensive prisoner swap, releasing captives held in Israeli jails in exchange for the return of Israeli troops detained in Gaza.

Dr. Ahmad called upon influential nations, particularly Nigeria, to rally behind the Palestinian cause and pressured Israel to withdraw from the disputed territories.

“Well, I hope that Nigeria is a big country, has influence in Africa, to support the Palestinian people. Because I think our cause is just, it’s fair. And I think that we expect from the Nigerian government, Nigerian people, to give more support in the political aspect, the humanitarian aspect for our people.

“Because if you look to South Africa, South Africa takes a brave step when they go to the ICG, and they have their defense for the Palestinian people. I expect that all, or most, of the African countries, suffer from the Western colonial occupation.  I think they feel the suffering of the Palestinian people. So I expect that they will give more support to the Palestinian people,” he said.

Furthermore, he urged the international community to hold Israel accountable for its transgressions, uphold human rights standards, and promote justice for the Palestinian populace. #Hamas
