Nigerian comedian and actor Oluwaseyitan Aletile, popularly known as Seyi Law, has commended Chief Bola Tinubu for removal of fuel subsidy.
Despite the widespread hardship caused by the subsidy removal, Seyi Law believes the move will ultimately benefit Nigerians in the long run.
Speaking on the issue, Seyi Law emphasised that the subsidy should have been scrapped earlier, referencing the protests led by Tinubu against its removal during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012.
He remarked that if the subsidy had been removed at that time, Nigerians would have already passed through the challenges and started experiencing recovery.
His words, “Fuel subsidy should have been long gone. If it had gone in 2012 we would have gone through the pain process and by now we would have been healing.

“In 2012, I was the only celebrity that went on stage to kick against the anti-fuel subsidy movement. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala came out to say that the nation could not afford to pay salaries. “We were borrowing to pay salaries,” he added.
