Kashim Shettima, on Wednesday travelled to Abidjan, Côte D’Ivoire to attend the opening ceremony of International Exhibition Of Extractive And Energy Resources (SIREXE) 2024 Conference.
The conference is slated for November 27 to December 2, 2024, at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre.
The Côte d’Ivoire government is hosting an international conference titled “Policies and Strategy for the Sustainable Development of the Extractive and Energy Industries.”
At the invitation of Côte d’Ivoire’s Vice Président Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, Shettima would use the event to discuss Nigeria’s experience in the hydrocarbon exploration and production industry.
Recall that Bola Tinubu had also jetted out of Nigeria to France on a state visit to the French President, Emmanuel Macron.
Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, who made this known in a statement on Tuesday said Tinubu’s visit to the French President which would take three days and focus on strengthening political, economic, and cultural relations.
However, these series of travel comes as Nigerians continue to grapple with economic hardship, hunger and rising inflation.
