Shettima Slams Nigerians Who Rejoice Over Naira’s Fall

Kashim Shettima has blasted Nigerians who are celebrating the decline of the Naira on social media, calling them ‘clowns’ who do not care about the nation’s economy.

Shettima expressed his frustration at a function in Abuja on Wednesday, January 31, where he said that the Naira’s fall to N1,500 per dollar was ‘disheartening, disenchanting, and heartbreaking.’

He urged Nigerians to unite and work together to salvage the economy, instead of mocking the situation on Twitter.

“It is not only disheartening and disenchanting, but also heartbreaking that yesterday when the Naira culminated to N1,500 to the dollar, instead of us to coagulate into a single force and salvage our nation economy, sadly, some clowns are celebrating on Twitter of an impending implosion of the Nigerian economy,” Shettima said in a video shared by Symfoni, a media platform.
